Fun Ideas To Keep Your Child Active Indoor!

Toddlers are known for being active. They are at that age to explore, move about, and try new things. They can't sit still, can they? But it is encouraged for toddlers to spend at least 30 minutes each day conducting some structured activity. Active play or unstructured physical activity is also encouraged for at least 60 minutes a day.

However, sometimes the weather or other circumstances do not permit outdoor play. Hence, it is important for you to get creative and come up with some fun ideas for your toddlers to channel their high energy into. Here are 5 ideas you can consider to keep your little ones stay active indoors.

1. Set up obstacles course

This can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. Rearrange furniture, take out your pillows and blankets, and look for anything else you have around the house to build a mini obstacle course for your child.

2. Blast the stereo

Put on some of your child's favourite music and encourage them to dance along to get their body moving. To make it extra fun, you can do a dance battle between you and your toddler too!

3. Go on an indoor scavenger hunt

Hide small toys or objects around the house and give your child some clues or a list of things to find. This ensures they get some good exercise running around from one place to another as they look for the items.

4. Build a fort

Grab some blankets and pillows and make a fort or playhouse for your child. They can use it as a foundation while playing with their toys or even take a nap.

5. Get artsy and crafty

There are tons of possibilities when it comes to arts and crafts projects for your toddler. You can make greeting cards, colouring, painting, clay, playdough or homemade slime.
